The Goyt Valley
This popular area a few miles west of Buxton has an attractive mix of moorland, forests, reservoirs and farmland, with a network of paths and bridleways.
Due to the narrow roads and pressure of visitor traffic, on Sundays and Bank Holidays from May until the end of September the road between The Street and Derbyshire Bridge is closed to all motor traffic (except for emergency vehicles and those who work in the valley). At all other times there is a one-way system from Errwood to Derbyshire Bridge.

Goyt's Lane
Map ref: SK 024752
This informal car park occupies a sloping site overlooking moorland and a large pond. The basalt chippings surface is somewhat uneven. A small car park (5 spaces) reserved for disabled people has been constructed across the road to give level access onto a specially constructed track suitable for wheelchair-users. Take care when crossing road.
The wheelchair route follows the line of the former Cromford and High Peak Railway, and takes you nearly 2km into wild moorland; a remote and tranquil setting. The surface of the trail is a mixture of stone chippings and grass, level but slightly uneven in places.
The nearest toilets, including one suitable for disabled people, are at Bunsal Cob.
Information board.

You can enjoy a level walk alongside the reservoir to Errwood (about 1km) when the road is closed to vehicles on Sundays and Bank Holidays from May until the end of September.
Information board with leaflet dispenser.
Picnic tables on bank above car park lower end.
