Regional Spatial Strategy / Regional Plan (currently under partial review)
The National Park spans four government regions but, for the purposes of planning policy, the whole of the National Park is covered by Regional Spatial Strategy 8 for the East Midlands. This is prepared by East Midlands Regional Assembly (EMRA) in close consultation with all the authorities in the region and approved by the Government Office for the East Midlands. It is a formal part of the Development Plan for the National Park.
