Looking after the Peak District
Caring for the countryside and local communities...
The
Peak District National Park Authority works with local people, businesses and organisations to make
sure the Peak District can be enjoyed today in ways that
look
after it for
the benefit of future generations.
The Authority will help you if you are caring for listed buildings, preserving the traditional character of villages, protecting wildlife or bringing back native woodlands.
Specialists can advise on whether you are entitled to a grant for any work you are doing and there are a number of projects aimed at supporting and funding local businesses and organisations that, through their efforts, are helping conserve and enhance the environment.
As well as offering day-to-day guidance, the Authority is also working with its partners to develop mid to long term plans and policies which will protect the National Park’s landscape and wildlife and sustain its communities by developing the rural economy.
