Looks at National Heritage projects that help to preserve and enhance or widen public access to, or understanding or enjoyment of wide ranging aspects of physical heritage.

Use of Landfill Tax Credits to fund local projects including a wide range of public amenity, facilities and building restroration projects.

The main aim of Awards for All is to fund projects which involve people in their local community, bringing them together to take part in and enjoy a wide range of arts, sport, heritage, charitable and other community activities.

Sustainable Development Fund www.peakdistrict.gov.uk/sdf
The Sustainable Development Fund has been provided to support a new Government initiative in England's National Parks. Local arrangements have been set up by the Peak District National Park Authority. Typical eligible projects may involve young people, help support local sustainable businesses, support new initiatives for communities, look for new ways to tackle problems or let people and organisations work together.

Staffordshire Moorlands Community and Voluntary Services www.smcvs.co.uk
An independent, local voluntary organisation that works in partnership with voluntary and community organisations and other relevant bodies - such as local and central government.

Derbyshire Rural Community Council (DRCC) www.derbysrcc.org.uk
The DRCC provides extensive support to Derbyshire villages covering all aspects of rural life. There is also fieldworker support for villages undertaking the parish planning process. The Council administers several grants that would be useful to local groups. Examples include:

  • DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) Parish Plan Grant that can be used by local groups and parish councils for producing, managing and printing a village plan.
  • Rural Solutions Grant to encourage community activity and keep local groups running and growing. Grant applications of £50 to £500 are welcomed.
